This is my first post on my newest project, Modern Folk Embroidery’s Fraktur Hex.
The original design photo showed the entire project stitched in blue.
I knew I would get bored only stitching the same color so I have switched up the color scheme.
Just the single outside border was 1072 stitches! It’s a very big project.
I have gotten a lot done in 3 weeks. Here is where I ended last night.
I can’t wait to watch this project develop and so far I am really liking the colors. Though I am still not sure of the pink.

My first thought was the same as Claire’s. How brave of you! I wonder how many times you counted 🙂 I think the colours look lovely. It’s very intricate and delicate so far.

I used pins to mark every 25 stitches so if I lost count i would only have to go back to my last count of 25 🙂

That outer border in one round….you have fortitude! I am loving the colors so far, this will be a wonderful take on the original!

Phew — I’m with the others, very brave to stitch the outline first! I think I would have lost my mind from all the counting. Looking forward to seeing this project grow, and I love that you’re changing the monochromatic design!

It was a challenge for sure but using pins every 25 stitches helped to keep my place but I still was nervous and counted multiple times lol!

It is huge and I am stitching it without a hoop or loom because I dont want it hopelessly wrinkled. It’s my biggest challenge yet because I have never stitched on anything other than 16 ct aida and this is 28 count linen 🤦‍♀️

I love stitching on linen. Once you get used to it, I bet you’ll prefer it. It looks so much nicer and I think the feel of it as you’re stitching is definitely nicer, especially if you’re not using a frame.

It is a very intricate design and I am already getting a bit cross-eyed from it so I might have to do some mini projects in between to keep my focus lol!

Oh, how pretty! It is going to be a lovely piece. I don’t do counted cross stitch, so I don’t know if this would work…but could you add a small amount of a darker pink to the underparts of the petal? Or carry the green just up the side of the base of the petal?

I couldn’t find where to leave a comment on your 20 for 20 post (duh) which I found interesting reading. I love hearing about the daily life that we lead. You have wonderful goals and seem to accomplish so much really. But to your piece…that’s a lot of stitches and all of them perfect! What thread count is the linen?
