To kick off our busy season in the bakery department, I had a wedding cake and a gender reveal cake to bake this weekend. Both pretty little cakes. I predict a busy summer in our future! -MM

I love the simple elegance of the wedding cake. I want to know more about the flowers, they are very beautiful but I’ve never seen anything like them.

Kathy they are gum paste flowers. They almost feel like plaster when you hold them. They come in white and you can airbrush them any color you like. When I ordered them I didn’t realize they would be quite that big so in hindsight I should have ordered 1-1/2″ roses instead of the 3″ roses. But they were still pretty 🙂

I wondered, because they look pretty solid; they really make a nice statement on that cake.
