Woohoo! I can do the happy dance because Mr. Salvador the peacock is complete. The only thing I would like to add to him is possibly some tiny beading to give him a little sparkle before I frame him.
I am still looking for the right frame for this project so I will post again when it is complete and I can give it to the intended recipient :).
Other than that, I consider this beautiful cross-stitch project done and I can’t wait to give it away!
Now I have to figure out what my next project will be. A gigantic new project or my own design project.
The above is a chart I had made of a photograph I took of my back shelf after I harvested these gourds and onions. I had the photo converted into a cross-stitch chart by an online company. It’s 10 pages long! I think you all may get sick of looking at this if I choose it for the SAL though lol!
This other project is my own design. It looks simple right now but there is a lot I will be adding to it which will be fun to see.

If you are wondering what this SAL group thing is all about we are a group of stitchers that update each other every 3 weeks with an individual project we all pick for ourselves. I could not have finished Mr. Peacock as fast as I did without having that gentle push and reminder every three weeks from Avis and the rest of these lovely like minded stitchers.

The finished peacock looks great! I like how it appears so dimensional. The trailing branches and the tail really pop! I like how both of your projects sounds, but it looks like you have a start on that tree there. Maybe continue that one 🙂 Or switch back and forth on both projects for the SAL!

I tend to agree with previous comments, that you’ve started the tree so maybe it’s a good idea to continue with that. If you choose to stitch the 10 page marathon, we’ll be here to cheer you along!

Lol! Yes, Salvador is a pretty boy isn’t he? My husband thinks I am nuts for even considering trying the 10 pager. I just can’t resist the challenge though…

The peacock is beautiful. I’m so pleased you’ve got your first SAL project finished. Yes, we are supposed to concentrate on one project at a time but some people are naughty LOL. I don’t suppose it really matters. However, as you are asking, I’d go with the tree next because I’m wondering what it’s all about 🙂

Mr. Salvador looks magnificent, congrats on the finish! I’m leaning toward the tree, myself. Co spider this, if you really want to do the gourds you could probably do a selective crop and make it a bit smaller project.😄

Well done! Mr Salvador looks amazing! A little bit of tasteful sparkle might be a good idea, but either way I’d say you can be proud.
I’d say the tree too – but if you need the encouragement for your monster piece, this is the group to spur you on!

It’s gorgeous, love the dimensional texture. I like the idea of the second piece better, it’s more freehand and spontaneous. But if you’re dreading making a start on the other one, perhaps that would be the best idea, because being in the group will give you the push you need!

Hurrah for the finished peacock!!!!! I think I´d chose the photo with the gourds and the onions. I don´t mind seeing it over the years, I think it is great!!!!!

Some beads would be a great way to add sparkle to Mr. Salvador. I would consider adding a bit of metallic thread or clear crystal beads to the centers of a few of the flowers too. Congratulations on the finish! (I would vote for the tree for future SAL posts.)

I’d love to see the tree as I’m intrigued by it and what you’re going to add. Also it’s great to see people’s own designs as they evolve.

Congratulations on finishing the beautiful peacock, such elegant creatures. My only advise regarding what to stitch next is to go with your heart. No one else will “feel” the piece like you do so as long as you are happy stitching it that is all that matters.
