2026 Goals January Update

Gah, January is already finished for 2026. What the heck?! I have been making some progress with my goals…let’s see what I have accomplished so far.

#1 Exercise/Walk More

Believe it or not, I have been walking in my house before I go to work. I try to get 1000 steps in a day before work.

#2 Read 52 Books

I have read 2 books so far. I really like Lee Goldberg fiction. His writing isn’t too intense, but it keeps you interested and still has some humor.

#3 Cook More At Home

I have been cooking a ton at home. Here’s a few things I have been cooking up:

#4 Bake More For Us

I baked a pumpkin pie for us two weeks ago and last week I made us blueberry muffins.

#5 Get $10,000 in Etsy Sales

It’s been a great month in the vintage dishes department! I had 19 orders so far this year with a total of $935. Great start!

#6 Get My Little Bakery Cabinet Up and Running

Nothing yet on this one.

#7 Journal as Much as Possible

Been pretty bad at this goal.

#8 Home/Garden Focused

Still need to order my seeds! Ugh…I at least have a plan of what I want to grow.

In the home department, I have been doing pretty good though.

Bought new curtains from Amazon
Bought a new coverlet from JC Penney

#9 All New Wardrobe

I have cleaned out my dresser drawers, and washed all of my laundry to see exactly what I have to work with and what I need. Next, I will be working on my closet.

#10 Pay off $10,000 in credit card debt

I paid $949.99 off in debt this month! Wahoo!

#11 Organize/Hoe Out House/Work on a Cleaning Schedule/Work Smarter Not Harder

My kitchen workbench was so disorganized and downright yucky. I spent $32 on bins at Target and voila…organized and cleaned!

After

#12 Spend More Time With My Husband

Because of the multiple snow storms here on the East Coast, most of our together time has been binge watching shows. We finished seasons 3 and 4 of the game show The Floor, watched all of the seasons and are now caught up on the Gilded Age, and are plowing through the available seasons of Ted Lasso. Otherwise, we get out for a drive and antique or catch lunch somewhere.

#13 Less Screen Time

I am trying to flip the switch on my screen time by playing less games and social media with reading more Kindle and working hard on listing on Etsy. All cell phones include a feature where you can track this daily and weekly and even put a limit on what you can do on your phone. Here are my stats for this month:

One of my goals with this is to have less screen time for social media and games. Since week 3, I have had less screen time with games, thankfully, but Facebook is still a problem. I don’t mind Instagram as much because most of my business dealings are on Instagram, and to be honest, I feel Instagram is less toxic. That’s just my opinion.

That’s for this update! How are you doing on your goals? -MM

Welcome to my Blog! My world is my husband and son (soon to be moving into his own home) and my step-children (fully grown) and our two cats who are definitely ying and yang. My day job is as Deputy Clerk of my home town in Western, NY but when I get home I have two side gigs, one as a professional private baker, and two, as an Etsy shop owner selling vintage and antique dishes and accessories. I have been gardening and growing my own food since my grandfather taught me at the ripe old age of 5. I stitch, I bake, I grow food, I can and preserve, I grocery shop to save money and eat well and boy do I have massive to-do lists. I hope you enjoy my day to day writings.
