SAL-Project Joyce’s Rose #8

It’s been an interesting three weeks. I was sick for the first two weeks of it. You would think with all that down-time, I would get a lot of stitching done, but sadly, my brain just didn’t want to work well enough to concentrate. However, I did get quite a bit stitched in the last week, so here it is.

Here is where I left off last time I posted:

And here is where I am now:

Almost all of the bottom half of the rose is complete, and now I have started on the last leaf of the bottom half.

I hope Helen is feeling better! I hear she has been sick as well. I think everyone has been feeling under the weather. The gloomy days aren’t helping, that’s for sure!

Next update is Sunday, February 12th. See you then! -MM

This stitch-a-long is made up of many talented stitchers from all over the globe and we are all working on different projects. I have linked the other members of the Stitch-A-Long below. Please pop on over to see what all of the other stitchers are working on. Thank you Avis for organizing this SAL!

Welcome to my Blog! My world is my husband and son (soon to be moving into his own home) and my step-children (fully grown) and our two cats who are definitely ying and yang. My day job is as Deputy Clerk of my home town in Western, NY but when I get home I have two side gigs, one as a professional private baker, and two, as an Etsy shop owner selling vintage and antique dishes and accessories. I have been gardening and growing my own food since my grandfather taught me at the ripe old age of 5. I stitch, I bake, I grow food, I can and preserve, I grocery shop to save money and eat well and boy do I have massive to-do lists. I hope you enjoy my day to day writings.

  1. That leaf looks like it has a bunch of confetti stitching. I love the look of this rose. I am sorry you were ill for so long, but I am glad you are feeling better.

  2. Sorry to hear you were unwell – it is that time of year isn’t it? This is a pretty piece so take as long as you like – it is lovely to see it pop up every three weeks.

  3. There’s some horrible flu-like viruses going around here too. So far we’ve been fortunate and not caught it. I’m pleased you hear you’re feeling better. I tend to work on my SAL project for the first week and then do other things (like knitting) for the other two weeks.
